I experienced the following problem on both 2.0.7 and now on 2.2.0 I am using a samba filesystem on freebsd for my win32 server. I try to run compiles from the mount and they fail. The samba logs don't show anything unusual, and I can execute other executables from the mounted directory. I think it might have something to do with path lengths, and possibly traversing up and down several levels during the compile execution. Here is the error I get when running from the mounted g: drive server:/usr2/solaris_dir/cdtest mounted as g: G:\apr16\target\config\m5307c3>make clean cccf -M -MG -m5200 -ansi -O2 -fvolatile -Wall -I/h -I. -IG:\apr16\target\conf ig\all -IG:\apr16\target/h -IG:\apr16\target/src/config -IG:\apr16\target/src/dr v -DCPU=MCF5200 hello.c sysLib.c sysSerial.c G:\apr16\target\config\all/boot Config.c G:\apr16\target\config\all/bootInit.c G:\apr16\target\config\all/dataSe gPad.c G:\apr16\target\config\all/usrConfig.c G:\apr16\target\config\all/version .c > depend.m5307c3 cccf: installation problem, cannot exec `G:/apr16/host/x86-win32/lib/gcc-lib/cf- wrs-vxworks/gcc-2.96/cpp.exe': No such file or directory make: *** [depend.m5307c3] Error 0x1 make: *** Deleting file `depend.m5307c3' cccf is our ColdFire cross compiler based on gnu gcc 2.96 It is interesting to note that if I dismount the samba mount and remount it using an nfs client, then it works. Also if I remount it under TAS (TotalNet Advanced Server) then it works also. I am not sure how to proceed to debug this issue. Doug Egan -- ---
