I have coded a preliminary patterning for fills based on the Postscript "paint" function that a couple of R-bies requested. As an attempt to forestall giving them headaches when someone (maybe even me) gets around to coding patterning for the other devices, I have used the most significant byte of the internal color code to hold the pattern code. This does not interfere with solid color specification (as far as I can see with x11(), Ghostview, KDE's PS viewer and a couple of Postscript printers). Anyone is welcome to look at the changes and tell me: a) I've completely stuffed it up b) It may be useful. c) Both of the above.
