Hey all, I'm trying to create a .deb installable package of Samba4 so I can add it to my local repository and install from there. Main reason for this is I want to automate Samba builds using puppet. Has anyone had any experience/success with this? I've tried various methods using dh make etc but no luck so far. Hi Andrew, I use Ubuntu 14.04 in prod and we've moved beyond their repo (currently using Samba 4.4.2). Haven't had a chance to test 16.04 yet. c:) On 29 April 2016 at 09:42, Andrew Bartlett <abartlet at samba.org> wrote:> On Mon, 2016-04-25 at 15:21 +0100, Chris Alavoine wrote: > > Hey all, > > > > I'm trying to create a .deb installable package of Samba4 so I can > > add it > > to my local repository and install from there. Using debian 4.4.2 for 2 weeks now, no problems, Created own deb file from the experimental sources. 4.4.2-2 is debian unstable now, its not that hard to recompile it to jessie. Just make sure the compiling machine has a local repo which containt the needed files for samba. Start with with compiling tevent talloc ldb tbd.
